Time Enough

I am in the right place, doing the right thing at the right time.
We are faced with many demands upon our time. If I were to allow anxiety to overwhelm me, I would not function at my highest and best.
I choose instead to turn within when I feel anxious--to breathe, relax and open my mind to divine ideas. I embrace peace rather than anxiety or concern; a sense of purpose rather than a sense of worry.
I discover that time serves me as I go calmly about my business. I am relieved as I act to the best of my ability. I give no thought to what I did last or what I must do next. Instead my complete attention is on the task at hand. This brings me a deep sense of satisfaction in all that I do.
I know that there is nothing better for them than to be happy and enjoy themselves as long as they live.--Ecclesiastes 3:12

World Peace

WORLD PEACE
I contribute to a world of peace by expressing peace in every word I speak, every action I take and every prayer I hold in my heart.
As individuals we can each foster peace in our world. I can do something right now to contribute to greater peace: I can, through the power of my spoken word, extend a blessing to everyone in my awareness.
The act of blessing creates positive energy that dissolves negative thoughts and feelings. The blessing ripples out as a vibration of healing love to my community and the world. My words not only create my life, they can also create peace--both within me and within others. Therefore, I imbue my words with loving intention and share blessings that inspire and encourage others. In this way, I help bring harmony to each interaction and peace to the world.

Equality

EQUALITY
While I may do some things better than another person, they may do other things better than me. We each have unique strengths and qualities, but we are equally worthy and valuable.
Equality doesn't mean being the same as everyone else. It means we are unique in our differences, yet one at heart. We depend on one another to fill in the gaps. We look to our spiritual nature to show us our oneness.
I acknowledge the strengths and special gifts of my fellow human beings, lifting others up rather than tearing anyone down. I may do some things better than you. You may do some things better than me, but together we make a formidable team.

Quotes I Like

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. (Martin Luther King)

Few will have the greatness to bend history, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of a generation. It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. (Robert F. Kennedy)

The true key to creating a more peaceful world is through peace education - creating a new kind of leader, leaders with the wisdom to see beyond national boundaries and beyond the color of the skin, beyond economic gains and self-interest; leaders who see that we are all brothers and sisters and deserve help when the lives of even a few fellow human beings are in danger. Our hope of preventing and stopping genocide lies in the younger generation. (God Sleeps in Rwanda by Joseph Sebarenzi)

New Year, New Day

NEW YEAR, NEW DAY
I make room for new ideas.

A new day, a new year, a new beginning! Today everyone is thinking in terms of newness. We may feel as if we have emerged out of an old world into a new one, as if we are taking hold of a new life, as if the very Spirit of newness is alive in us.

I dedicate this day to new ideas, new viewpoints and renewed living. I leave behind outgrown thoughts of past limitations and lack. I let go of old grudges and outdated viewpoints. Fresh ideas refresh my mind. I make room for new, vital, healthy and prosperous ideas.

My world is new as I respond to life in a new way. I see people and situations in a new light. I begin today by acknowledging the Spirit of newness within me, and I am renewed in mind, body and spirit.
